Legends & Memories

In everyone's life there are always some span of times which they never want to forget or even fade way. Inspite they smile bluntly remembering those days. Childhood is one of them. Atleast its one for me, and we need not need a reason to cherish those moments. While dusting off my cupboard last day I found a video game cartridges which dragged me to memory lane.
Once upon a time, there was an interesting game called video game. AH! The thrill of summer vacations would be doubled and trebled with the knowledge that finally, finally that amazing joystick would be embraced by those homework acknowledging hands. As kids, my brother and I were so addicted to it. I remember, almost choking on my dinner to be the first to play again. You see, the immediate rivals in those days were our siblings…

On good and peaceful notes, some games are legendary, like Mario. That small, moustached man was a hero in our eyes, fighting the world to rescue the princess in distress. Twing… twing… He would jump up and down, run as fast as he could possibly run, grew bigger, died with a big smile on his face…That music would ring in my ear while I would be on my bed, just waiting for the morning so, I could get back to the game again and finish the next level…
Being the elder, it was easy getting the joystick (we call that 'Remote')… Sorry bro… but being the first is sometimes fun… he he he…

But I have to admit, even watching the other one play can be fun too…

Hey, you couldn’t even jump there?’
‘What a waste!!!!’
‘Give me the remote… I’ll show how to play… you don’t know how to….’

And the best part……

‘Ha ha ha… there you go… you lost your man again…’

All the jerkiness was lost in the spirit of the game and the day would end on a happy note if we didn’t get grounded for fighting…

‘Oh no mom… we were not fighting… it’s just that stupid man falls all the time…’
‘Sure mom… we’ll share and not fight…’
‘Okaaaaay papa…’ (he he he…)
‘Gimme me the remote… or I’ll call mom…’

So if we are still playing the game the next day, that means everything ended well… else…
You can guess… there would have been some hair pulling, some pushing and some bantering…
And then… ‘Hey, I am sorry, just don’t tell mom…’ and ‘I didn’t mean to…’ and ‘Come on, you are my bro na’….

Ah… Good memories…Miss them.

So all with a happy note..bro come fast and lets play Mario again....ha ha ha.
